The Portugieser Automatic 40, introduced in 2020, maintains the iconic Portugieser design in a more compact 40-millimeter case. It pays homage to the inaugural Portugieser, Reference 325 from 1939, featuring a clean dial with a small seconds subdial at 6 o'clock. This particular version boasts an 18-carat 5N gold case, measuring 40.4 millimeters in diameter, and an Obsidian dial adorned with gold-plated hands and appliques. The exquisite craftsmanship extends to the case construction, with a thinner casing ring and box-glass sapphire crystals on both the front and back. The dial is a masterful creation, involving 60 steps and 15 layers of transparent lacquer to achieve its stunning depth. The subdial is intricately milled into the brass blank and lacquer layer, with a special printing process adding to the three-dimensional effect. The final touch is the hand-mounted appliques
