Breitling's versatile timepiece for all your adventures, the Chronomat, holds a special place in the brand's legacy. Introduced in 1984, amidst an era dominated by slim quartz watches, Breitling made a bold move with a substantial mechanical watch. Based on the Frecce Tricolori chronograph, developed in 1983 in collaboration with the renowned Italian aerial squadron, the Chronomat marked Breitling's centenary in grand style, reinstating the mechanical chronograph at the forefront of the brand. Crafted in materials like stainless steel and 18k red gold, the Chronomat boasts a 42 mm case and the iconic bezel with four rider tabs. With dial options in black, blue, silver, and copper, it is paired with the signature 'Rouleaux' bracelet and houses the in-house Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, a COSC-certified chronometer.

Technical information about this watch
Breitling Chronomat B01 42
200M / 20 ATM water resistance
Water resistance indicates a watch's ability to withstand moisture and water. Ratings are measured in metres (M) or atmospheres (ATM). For instance, 30M (3 ATM) is suitable for light splashes, while 100M (10 ATM) and above are ideal for swimming and diving. Regular maintenance helps retain water resistance over time.
Breitling Calibre B01 Automatic movement
Watch movements are the mechanisms that power timekeeping, coming in automatic, manual, and quartz types. Automatic movements self-wind using wrist motion, manual movements require hand-winding, and quartz movements are battery-powered for precise timekeeping. Each type offers unique benefits, catering to different preferences and lifestyles.
42mm case size
Case size, measured in millimetres (mm), impacts the watch's look and fit. Men's watches typically range from 38mm to 46mm, and women's from 26mm to 36mm. Larger cases make a bold statement, while smaller cases offer a classic look. Choosing the right size ensures comfort and style.
70 hours power reserve
Power reserve is the duration a watch runs on a full wind or charge. Mechanical watches usually offer 40 to 80 hours, with some extending to several days. Quartz watches, powered by batteries, last several years. Knowing the power reserve helps maintain accurate timekeeping.
