OMEGA Speedmaster Anniversary Series "First OMEGA In Space"
OMEGA Speedmaster Anniversary Series "First OMEGA In Space"
On October 3, 1962, astronaut Walter Schirra wore his personal OMEGA Speedmaster CK 2998 on the Sigma 7 mission, marking the first OMEGA in space. This modern tribute features a 39.70 mm polished and brushed stainless steel case with a “flat links” bracelet and OMEGA's patented comfort release system. The black aluminium bezel includes the iconic tachymeter scale with the “Dot Over Ninety,” while the sapphire crystal reveals a grey-blue CVD-coated dial inspired by 1960s models. Vintage Super-LumiNova fills the “Alpha” hands, complemented by a white varnished “Baton” seconds hand and classic subdials.
The vintage OMEGA logo adorns the dial and crown, while the caseback features the Seahorse medallion and inscriptions celebrating its space heritage. Powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, an evolution of the Calibre 321, the watch embodies OMEGA’s pioneering legacy. It comes in a special presentation box with a “LEGENDARY MOONWATCH” leaflet, celebrating this timeless design.
