OMEGA Speedmaster Anniversary Series "First OMEGA In Space"
On October 3, 1962, astronaut Walter Schirra made history by wearing his personal OMEGA Speedmaster CK 2998 on the Sigma 7 mission, making it the first OMEGA in space. This modern tribute honours that milestone with a 39.70 mm polished and brushed stainless steel case, a black leather strap, and a black aluminium bezel featuring the iconic “Dot Over Ninety” tachymeter scale. Beneath the sapphire crystal, the CVD-coated grey-blue dial replicates the tone of 1960s CK 2998 models, with vintage Super-LumiNova-filled “Alpha” hands, a white “Baton” central seconds hand, and subdials for 30-minute, 12-hour, and small-seconds counters.
The watch features a vintage OMEGA logo on the dial and crown, with the caseback engraved with “THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE” and the Seahorse medallion. Powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, an advanced version of the legendary Calibre 321, it continues OMEGA’s space legacy. Each timepiece comes in a special presentation box with a “LEGENDARY MOONWATCH” leaflet, celebrating its pioneering heritage.
